Features of Acidic Glass Sealant
1. Single-component acidic curing
Acidic Glass Sealant is a single-component acidic curing silicone sealant that can be used directly without mixing, suitable for rapid on-site installation. After curing, it exhibits stable adhesion and high construction efficiency.
2. High-strength adhesion
The product has high adhesive strength, suitable for applications such as large-pane glass, skylights, and display glass. It maintains a strong bond for extended periods in glass structure engineering.
3. Transparent and colorless
GIRAFE 918 transparent glass sealant is crystal clear and colorless after curing, does not block natural light, has good light transmittance, and meets the visual performance requirements of high-end buildings.
4. Excellent Weather Resistance
Maintains elasticity and sealing performance even after long-term exposure to sunlight, moisture, rain, and other natural environments, ensuring continued structural safety.
5. Rapid Surface Drying and Curing
This product cures rapidly at room temperature, reaching usable strength in a short time, facilitating the rapid delivery of glass curtain walls and display structures.
Applications of Acidic Glass Sealant
1. Large-Plate Glass Bonding and Sealing
Suitable for shopping mall windows, skylights, and all-glass facade structures, effectively maintaining transparent visibility and a strong seal.
2. Point-Supported Glass Curtain Wall Assembly
Can be used for bonding and sealing point-supported glass curtain wall systems, providing safety protection while achieving a highly transparent facade design.
3. Fully Transparent Display Glass Projects
Commonly used in display cases, exhibition glass, interior partitions, etc. After curing, it is colorless and does not affect the overall visual effect.
4. Home Decoration Glass Bonding and Sealing
Used in bathroom glass partitions, glass countertops, mirror installations, etc., possessing high-strength bonding capabilities.
5. Interior Glass Joint Sealing
Used to fill gaps between glass panes and between glass and metal, preventing dust and moisture penetration.
6. Skylight and Protective Canopy Structural Sealing
Suitable for outdoor lightweight glass or PC canopy structures, ensuring long-term waterproof sealing.
FAQs for Acidic Glass Sealant
1. Can Acidic Glass Sealant be used on metal surfaces?
It can be used on some metals, but it is not recommended for easily corroded metals such as copper and iron. Compatibility testing is required beforehand.
2. Can it be used on stone or concrete curtain walls?
The acidic formula may cause stone staining; a neutral architectural silicone sealant is recommended.
3. Is it suitable for bonding load-bearing structures?
Not suitable for structural bonding; only for sealing and bonding non-structural glass.
4. Is it UV resistant?
It has good weather resistance and UV resistance and can be used on outdoor glass.
5. Does it support OEM?
We offer OEM services for logos, packaging, and specifications, suitable for B2B customization needs.
Usage Method
- The base materials and auxiliary materials selected for the project must be tested for adhesion and compatibility, and can be put into use only after passing the test.
- The design and construction of the project must strictly abide by the technical specifications stipulated by the state for relevant projects, and refer to the “GIRAFE 918 Silicone Sealant For Large Plate Glass Usage Guide”.
- Air circulation should be maintained during construction and curing environments.
- The bonding surface of the substrate must be cleaned with cleaning solvents such as toluene, xylene or acetone.
- After the glue fills the joints, use a scraper to squeeze further inward to completely fill the joints with glue, and modify the glue surface before it solidifies.
Restriction of Usage
- Cannot be used on all material surfaces that will exude grease, plasticizers or other organic solvents
- Not suitable for use in airtight places, because silicone structural sealant needs to absorb moisture in the air to cure
- Not suitable for use on frosted or damp surfaces
- Not suitable for metal coated glass assembly.
- Not suitable for use in contact with marble, granite and other alkaline substances
- It is not suitable for construction when the surface temperature of the material is lower than 6°C or higher than 40°C

- We supply integrateddata, technical consultation and free compatibility test.
- Solving problem in the course of using timely.
- Silicone sealants release volatile compounds during the curing process, which may be harmful to health ifinhaled for a long time, so good ventilation should be maintained in the construction site.
- The cured silicone sealant no longer releases harmful substances and will not have any harmful effects on the body.
- Keep uncured silicone sealants out of the reach of children. If they accidentally get into the eyes, please rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
